Allie and Alex’s love story began about four years ago on the lucky date of 11/11 in Chicago, just a few months after Allie moved there from Kansas City.

Allie technically made the first move by liking Alex’s photo online.

Despite attending rival colleges and coming from rival hometowns, they decided to give it a chance — Allie went to Kansas, while Alex went to Mizzou. She roots for the Cardinals; he’s a Cubs fan. Their sports teams may always be rivals, but they quickly found the perfect match in each other.

Their first date was a night filled with margaritas, laughter, and conversation that lasted until closing time. Unbeknownst to Alex, Allie’s friends spied on them at the bar — a secret only revealed months later. Their second date came just a few days later and was just as memorable: a night of mini golf, where Allie surprised Alex by hitting a hole-in-one on the very first hole. Once again, they stayed until closing; enjoying cocktails, laughing & being completely caught up in each other. After those two dates, they were hooked — and the rest is history.

They share a love for travel, watching sunrises and sunsets, adventure, and creating unforgettable memories together. In Chicago, they expanded their little family by getting their first “child” together, Remington, who brought even more happiness into their lives. A few years later, their adventurous spirit led them to pack up and move to sunny, warm Florida. They embraced exploring a new city, quickly building a community and calling St. Petersburg their home.

The Eau holds a very special place in their hearts. It’s a cherished place where Allie spent her whole life vacationing at the beach and visiting her beloved grandparents. They chose this venue to get married because it’s somewhere they’ve loved spending time together and know they’ll continue making a lifetime of memories together. The stunning scenery, the closeness to family, and the warm, welcoming people makes it feel like a second home. Knowing how much The Eau means to Allie, Alex chose to completely surprise Allie by proposing to her right on the beach at the resort.
